School of Stomatology had its root in the former specialized dentist class initially and then Dental Medical Department of Southern Medical University in 2005 and witnessed its establishment in 2008. Qualified as a first level discipline authorized to confer doctoral degree, School of Stomatology has become the institute of developing national first-class subjects, evaluating the qualifications of national pharmaceutic clinical experiment institution. Currently it possesses two national priority specialties, seven national standardized bases for stomatologist training, one priority subject of Guangdong Province, and one experimental teaching and demonstrating center of Guangdong Province. It consists of five teaching and research sections of secondary disciplines, equipped with one robot and an international-class training platform for stomatological teaching and cephalic-gnathal simulation. Its academic faculty involve eleven doctoral supervisors, fifty-three mater supervisors, two national-level investigators, three academicians of International College of Dentists Section, and six outstanding junior medical investigators of Guangdong Province. Its academic influence is among the list of national top twenty. They have undertaken more than 40 research projects, national or ministerial. Their researches in endodontic diseases, mouth neoplasm, and biological materials have witnessed their international reputation.
