Founded in 1983, Shenzhen Stomatological Hospital (Shenzhen Dental Medical Centre of Guangdong Province) of Southern Medical University (SMU) is a modern specialized hospital based in Special Economic Zone, oriented to the needs of Hong Kong and Macao, and serving people in Pearl River Delta areas. The hospital covers an area of more than 800 square meters, with a building area of more than 2,400 square meters. There are 50 treatment rooms furnished with advanced dental equipment introduced from Europe and America, providing dental treatment service of four-hand operation the first of its kind on the mainland. In January 2017, in answering to the deployment of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, Shenzhen Stomatological Hospital was transferred to SMU as a whole for management. The hospital has introduced and performed high-tech diagnosis and treatment projects such as oral implantation, microscopic root canal therapy, root canal treatment with gutta percha during warm vertical compaction, painless localized anesthesia, stomatological CT scan and X-ray digital photography, etc.
