Founded in 1958, the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University (formerly the Third People’s Hospital of Nanhai District in Foshan) is a modernized first-class hospital, integrating medical care, clinical teaching, medical research and preventive care. On May 30, 2016, Southern Medical University and the governments of Nanhai District and Lishui Town signed the framework agreement of jointly building and managing the Third People’s Hospital of Nanhai District. On March 23, 2017, Hospital Management Co., Ltd. of Southern Medical University signed a co-construction agreement with the People’s Government of Lishui Town of Nanhai District in Foshan, and on May 30, 2020 it emerged as the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University. The hospital covers an area of 93,000 square meters, with a building area of 185,000 square meters. There are 1,200 beds, 40 clinical departments and 9 medical technology centers. Staffing 1,024 people, it includes 811 medical personnel, 138 with senior titles, 158 with master’s degrees or above, 26 with doctoral degrees and 5 with postdoctoral experience. Besides, there are 1 director and 3 deputy directors of the national academic associations, 5 deputy directors of the provincial academic associations, 1 backup talent of the Guangzhou “121” Project, 1 entitled Guangdong Distinguished Young Scholar, and 1 entitled Shanghai Outstanding Young Scholar.
