Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University is acomprehensive first-class hospital at Grade A invested and constructed by Shenzhen Municipal Government and fully managed by Southern Medical University, accountable for medical treatment, clinical teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care. As a clinical medical school of Southern Medical University in Shenzhen, it has been the first approved project as a famous hospital of “Three Eminent Projects” in Shenzhen since its opening on December 28, 2015. The hospital covers a total area of 82,412 square meters, with a total planned bed capacity of 2,500. An investment of RMB 2 billion has been in place for the first phase of the project which includes a construction area of 171,404 square meters, 1,101 beds, and a designed average daily outpatient capacity of 8,000 people. The hospital has 1,371 professional and technical staff, 202 staff with senior titles, 9 doctoral supervisors, 23 master’s supervisors, 153 talents of various types recognized by the municipal and district authorities, and nearly 10 experts and professors holding the positions of chairman and deputy chairman of national, provincial and municipal academic committees. The hospital was awarded the National Advanced Centre of Apoplexy in 2019. The departments of gastroenterology, rehabilitation, plastic surgery and burns were nominated for the 2019 Fudan edition of China Hospital Specialty Reputation Ranking for South China.
